Being fit and Supporting Your Gear

There is a great little product that allows you to both charge up your electronic gear (and let’s face it, your techie toys, too), and get yourself into better shape.  While you might find it a little bit odd to pedal a stationary bicycle as a method of keeping your batteries all charged up, this is just the way things go sometimes.  If you want to keep yourself at a decent level of cardiovascular conditioning, and also keep your batteries all charged up, you have a great dual purpose option that is known as the pedal a watt.  This is a little device which hooks onto any kind of stationary bike, and can be used to charge up just about any kind of battery using its terminals.

Pedaling a bike is a good way to keep your heart pumping faster than it would if you were just sitting in front of the TV.  And if the power has gone out, the only TV that you might be able to watch is the one on your smart phone, anyway.  If you want to keep that battery on until the power comes back on (even if that is not going to happen for a very long time), pedaling your stationary bike and using the pedal a watt may end up being your best option.  The combination of being able to work out, while you sit there and engage in enjoyable activities is definitely a positive thing.

At the same time, you have also got to watch out that you are actually pedaling quickly enough to accomplish something.  If your heart rate is not up and you are not breathing heavily, you are not going to be doing enough to keep your heart in good shape.  And considering that the wattage you produce is contingent upon how quickly you pedal, you might also not be doing enough to charge up your batteries properly.  Use your time productively, now.
